Franz Rossi, Tera Digital Publishing, on 2006 business

newspaper techniques: When you eventually look back at 2006, what is the one main business issue that you feel will define 2006 for your company and for the newspaper industry worldwide? This will be the year that ... what?

Franz Rossi: 2006 was a really good year. We completed the deployment at PcM, the most important Dutch media group; in the US we sold and installed at the largest Spanish speaking newspaper group, Impremedia; in Italy we developed and installed the technology to help the media enterpreneur Mr. Grauso to create E Polis. E Polis somehow represents the new frontier of publishing dailies: a high end technologyy, a central desk for all the group's papers, a fastly growing number of titles (13 in less than a year), high quality graphic based on a wise colour usage and a renovated businnes model and publishing workflow.

What we can say, from our experience, is that the emerging phenomenum of these last years is the aggregation of newspapers in larger media groups.
To properly serve media groups we developed the new Content Management Service (a completly new system based on the old editorial system) and proudly announced at Ifra EXPO 2006 GnPortal, the first application available of the new system.
In the end, our 2006 was definitely a great year.
